Anseong Thanks Nature Herb Village.

One of my very very favourite places in Korea is Anseong Thanks Nature Herb Village. When living in Korea, my husband and I would visit either for the day, or spend the night here, to escape the city and relax amongst the flowers and herbs. It is honestly so entirely peaceful here, I just love it! It can be quite busy during a holiday, but if you have a chance to go during the off season, itโ€™s really sweet.

Twice, we have stayed in the pension (or cabin). The first time, we slept in the Chamomile Cabin, which was decorated with dried Chamomile, and smelled so relaxing and lovely. My mom was visiting us from Canada at the time, for Christmas, and it was very cozy and comfy there. We were able to have a barbeque outside, on the charcoal grill.

Since we were there in the winter, we cooked wrapped sweet potatoes on the fire near the main building. I believe it was about 1,000 won per sweet potato.

There is a fantastic gift shop, full of herbs, bath products, fragrance, and everything you could imagine. It. Smells. Heavenly. We usually buy the calming bed spray, and Himilayan salt rocks when we visit. In addition to this main gift shop, there is a smaller building called Fragrancia, which has lots of aromatherapy products, most of which are made at Thanks Nature Herb Village. Attached to Fragrancia, is a large Green house, blooming year round with flowers and plants. There is a small section of tables amongst the trees and flowers, where you can have a winter picnic. Relaxing music plays throughout the building, and you feel like you could drift off into a midday nap.

The village also has a cute restaurant. When we visited last summer with our daughter, we decided to eat one meal at the restaurant as a treat. I ordered โ€œFlower Bi Bim Bapโ€ with edible flowers, and it was great!

Last summer, we spent the night in the Lavender cabin, and it was just as sweet as the Chamomile cabin. There was a bed, but we opted to sleep on the floor with the floor mattresses we found stacked on the bed upon arrival.

I really canโ€™t say enough about this place. If you have a chance, please visit. It is so refreshing and relaxing here. Thank you Thanks Nature!
