Making 파전 (Pajeon)!

Last week, I received a text from a friend of mine asking for help with her international business project. They had previously chosen a country to do a report on and this time around they had to make a video of themselves preparing a dish from that same country. My friend chose Korea and found a simple recipe for pajeon also known as Korean pancakes!

The recipe was quite simple, my friend found if on a Korean blogger’s website. The link to the recipe is available here as well as many other recipes for Korean dishes.

The ingredients are as follows:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons of potato (we substituted with corn starch)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 bunch of Chinese chives (we substituted for green onions)
  • Vegetable oil

You can find all the ingredients around the house, minus maybe the Chinese chives, which I know for sure T&T has.

The day after we made it, I made some at my house for my family to try and it definitely was a winner! When I made them at home, I decided to add chopped peppers as well. I think adding whatever vegetables you like to these could improve them to make them even better than they already are! I definitely suggest trying out the recipe at home, it’s very easy to make, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t very handy in the kitchen, and clean up is very easy because you don’t need to use many dishes!
