On Monday October 21, Embassy of the Republic of Korea presented its 6th ‘School Visit Program’ to Grade 7 students of York Street Public School introducing various aspects of Korean culture and society. After the School Visit presentation, the Embassy screened a Korean animation film “Leafie, a Hen into the Wild” for the entire school.
Through the presentation, the Grade 7 students learned about Korean geography and seasons, Korean history from ancient to modern times, as well as the Korean War and Korea-Canada relations. After the presentation, the students had a chance to present their research on different aspects of Korea such as culture, sports, the flag, and the Korean War. At the end of the presentation, the students participated in a Jeopardy game prepared by the Embassy to supplement the presentation and a chance for the students to win small prizes.
