A candlelight vigil will be held on Saturday, April 27 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall in Coquitlam, B.C. in honour of the victims, their families and those still missing from the Sewol ferry tragedy.
On April 16, 2014, a ferry carrying 476 passengers capsized near Jindo, on the east coast of the Korean peninsula. Many of the passengers, most of them high school students, have not yet been rescued and are still missing.
The metro-Vancouver Korean-Canadian community will gather for a night of silent prayer and solidarity in support of all those victimized by this great tragedy. Although being hosted at a religious building, please note that this is not a religious event, but a community gathering.
Doors will open at 6:30 pm for lighting of candles and the vigil will continue until 10 pm. Please come and show your support during any part of the night.
