From Wednesday July 2 to Thursday July 3, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Canada, His Excellency Cho Hee-yong, made an official visit to the province of Newfoundland and had meetings with provincial government and parliamentary leaders, the Korean War Veterans, the Korean Community, and local media.
Ambassador Cho met with Deputy Minister Sean Dutton, Deputy Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development Alastair O’Rielly and other governmental officials to raise awareness of Korea-Canada bilateral relations among the leaders and garner support for the recently concluded Korea-Canada Free Trade Agreement, strengthen Korea-Newfoundland relations in various areas.
After Ambassador Cho attended a commemorative wreath laying ceremony, he invited the Korean War veterans and hosted ‘Ambassador for Peace Medal’ awarding ceremony and expressed his deep gratitude toward the sacrifice of the veterans.
