On Friday October 3, Korea Day Proclamation and Flag Raising Ceremony were took place at the Ottawa City Hall. This event was the first event after the state visit of President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun Hye to Canada and celebrated the Korean National Foundation Day.
In this event, Ambassador Cho Hee-yong, Deputy Mayor Steve Desroches, Korean War veterans, and Korean community executives attended to see a flag rising and Korea Day proclamation ceremony.
Deputy Mayor Desroches mentioned that the City of Ottawa is please to proclaim ‘Korea Day’ this year after the state visit of President Park to Ottawa and agreed to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries. Ambassador Cho expressed his gratitude to the City of Ottawa and explained the success of the state visit of the President. He also appealed to the attendees to cooperate further for the strong bilateral relation.
After this ceremony, the attendees also participated to Korean National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day reception.
