My birthday was last month, and we happened to be in Saint John, NB at the time. Since it was my birthday, I decided I’d really like to have an amazing Yam Roll. Somehwere. Anywhere. We drove by a restaurant called “Boaz”, on our way to an appointment in Rothesay, so when lunch rolled around, we decided to try it out.
When we walked in, a friendly young woman asked if we were doing the “All-you-can-eat special”. I looked at her puzzled, and said we didn’t know what she was talking about, and asked to see a menu.
The waitress provided us with an extensive regular menu, as well as the unlimited menu selection and explained the system.
So, now that we know, here’s how it works!
When: Lunchtime Thursdays & Saturdays, 11:30-2:30
Price: $19.50/adult, $9.75 for Children 5-13
Stipulation: Leftovers can not be taken home. Drinks not included. Any left overs will be charged at regular price (AHH!)
How it works: You are given a check off menu, which includes everything! Appetizers, Tempura, soups, salads, noodles, Korean dishes, Japanese dishes, kids food, rice rolls. Seriously, this is an extensive menu!
I thought the Korean food offered was a great mix of the most popular dishes:
- Bulgogi
- Spicy Bulgogi
- Spicy Pork
- Japchae
- Bibimbap
- Hwaedupbap
- Tangsooyook
Since I had been wanting rice rolls, that’s what I filled up on. Omg. So good. I was really scared that I would be charged for leftovers, so I accidentally ate too much. My mom assured me I didn’t have to finish the last bite, and I was so full, but even then I couldn’t resist. I could barely walk for like an hour after this meal. When you finish your first plate, you can ask for something more, and more and more, until you can’t eat any more. Everything is made perfectly fresh to order.
My mom ordered Japchae off of the regular menu, and my little sweetie had a cucumber roll. Here Bobae is, doing her happy sushi dance:
In between bits of a fantastic lunch, Bobae practiced writing her name in Hangeul (which has nothing to do with this blog post, but I’m a proud mom).
So would we go here again? Absolutely, even without the the lunch special. The interior was beautiful, and the staff was very kind. There are two locations, and this one, on the Hampton Road, was very convenient with lots of parking spaces.
Here is the info, if you are in the area to give it a try!
Boaz Rothesay:
Address: 126 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB E2E 2N5
Phone: 506-847-4488
I couldn’t find the hours of the Rothesay location, but see below for the second location info and hours. I’m going to guess they are the same.
And lastly, a quick photo of the interior. I wasn’t thinking straight with all the food around, to take nice photos. I just happened to find this photo on my phone:

Thanks for introducing a nice Korean restaurant. I think there two BOAZ in St. John. When I visited St. John, I went BOAZ near the reversing falls. So before going to BOAZ in St. John, you need to check the adress of BOAZ.
Yep, there are two in the area :)
1. 126 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB E2E 2N5
2. 450 Fallsview Drive, Saint John (The one near reversing falls)
