Hello everybody! I am not that good with self-introductions but I decided to give it a try since I am one of the new bloggers for 2018 and I am going to be writing my posts under the user @nicregiane.
My name is Nicole, but people often call me Nica, Ni, or anything like that. I am the creator of a blog called Why Not? that I still did not have time to translate it to English, but I am planning on doing it. I was born on July 29, 1996 (that makes me a Leo) in Brasilia, Brazil but now I live in Ottawa. I am attending an online administration at a Brazilian university and during my free time, I share my experiences on my social medias.
I am basically going to be that mix of cultures, a Brazilian in Canada talking about Korean culture.
My interest in Asian culture started at an early age but it was in 2012 that I started listening to Kpop, watching Korean dramas and movies, which made me interested in Korean culture. My interest in Hallyu leads me to read more about Korean history, culture, music, and language. I have watched many videos with experiences of people who lived or are currently living in Korea and I hope to soon be there too.
In 2017, I started a Facebook page and a twitter account called ‘Kpop Union Brasil’ to talk more about everything related to Hallyu. I intend to make posts about music, dramas, food, and culture. My goal is to not only talk about those topics but also to search and learn more about the relationship between Canadians and Korean culture. I intend on doing that by interviewing people because there is no better way to express Korean culture in Canada than through the eyes of the people who like this culture.
Where are you from and how did you start to like the Korean culture? Tell me in the comments below and do not forget to follow the Korean Cultural Centre & the Korea-Canada Blog on the other social medias: Instagram, Youtube and Facebook
