This is one of the easiest things you can make in a pinch! I have always enjoyed ju mok bap (“ju mok” means “fist” and “bap” means “rice”), which is basically rice and kim (김) rolled into a ball. Yum x 100. We are always searching for finger foods that our 18 month old sweetie can feed herself and one day, it clicked! Why not make mini ju mok bap for her? And believe me, she absolutely loves it. It’s so quick to whip up a batch for us and a dish of mini rice balls just for her.
What you need:
- Rice (about a cup per person, or more if you love ju mok bap so much you can’t stop eating after just a few)
- Kim/Seaweed. I like the kind that is dried and salted in little pieces with sesame seeds. My husband likes the type with little dried fish, but that type creeps me out.
- Sesame Oil 1T or to taste
- Salt (Just a pinch)
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Be careful, it might be hot! Using kitchen gloves, squeeze into balls and put on a plate. For toddlers, make mini bite sized rice balls. Enjoy.
